Implants are built to last upwards of 25 years and if you have implants that are older, they may require restoration work.
There can be a reaction between your saliva and the metal implant over time that starts to corrode the implants. Typically, only a small percent of patients needs their implants restored due to rust or corrosion. During our consultation process we always discuss what to expect throughout the implant process, and we do let our patients know rusting is something to be aware of, but most likely will not happen.
